White & Case is sponsoring the IIR "Pan European Mezzanine Finance, Subordinated Debt and Leveraged Finance Summit" which is taking place in London on October 15-17, 2008.
This event is in its sixth year and has become the largest gathering of mezzanine and leveraged finance players in Europe. The conference agenda features many expert speakers and the sessions and panel debates will endeavour to tackle the big questions the industry is debating.
Magdalene Bayim-Adomako, co-head of the Bank Finance group in London, will chair the opening day of the summit and give her remarks as to where the conference discussions may lead.
Christopher Kandel, the other co-head of the London Bank Finance group, will take part in the first panel debate of the conference, entitled "The mezz revival: As other financing options fade, the mezzanine market marches forward..." featuring senior speakers from CVC, GSC Group, ICG, Goldentree, Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank.
On the second day, Stephen Phillips, a partner in our London Financial Restructuring & Insolvency group, will take part in a panel debate entitled "Defaults and restructurings in mezzanine finance." He will be joined by speakers from JPMorgan, Houlihan Lokey Zukin, Fitch Ratings, Perceva Capital and Sankaty Advisors.
On day three, Annica Lindegren, head of our German Bank Finance practice, will chair the Leveraged Finance Summit and give her thoughts on the outlook for leveraged finance.
This will be followed by a panel debate focusing on the growth of Infrastructure Finance in the marketplace and London Bank Finance partner Claire Denison will join the panel alongside experts from Wachovia Bank, Rothschild, Royal Bank of Canada and Merrill Lynch.
In the afternoon, Sam Hamilton, a partner in our London Bank Finance team, will lead a panel debate on the prospects and developments in Nordic Acquisition and Leveraged Finance. He will lead the debate among speakers from EQT, Procuritas and others to be confirmed.
The conference concludes after a large panel debate entitled "How to take advantage of the credit turmoil" led by a managing director of Alix Partners. White & Case's head of Financial Restructuring & Insolvency in London, Dan Hamilton, will take part in this debate alongside individuals from Oak Hill Advisors, Goldman Sachs, Arcil, Sun European Partners and Avenue Capital Group.
