Practice Experience
Andrew Caunt is a partner in the Firm's Banking and Capital Markets group and joined the London office of White & Case in May 2007.

He has extensive experience of advising issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions with particular emphasis on international equity offerings across both developed and emerging markets.

His transactional experience includes IPOs on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and AIM as well as other stock exchanges throughout the world, secondary offerings (including follow on primary offerings and rights issues), private placements (including into the United States under Rule 144A) and quick to market transactions. 

Examples of recent representations include:
  • Representing the underwriters on the US$11 billion global offering of Common Shares, Preferred Shares and ADSs by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce;
  • Representing the underwriters on the US$2 billion privatisation by way of IPO of Turk Telekom on the Istanbul Stock Exchange;
  • Representing Diamond Circle Capital Plc, an Isle of Man closed ended investment fund, on its IPO on the London Stock Exchange;
  • Representing Starcomms Plc, a leading provider of telecommunications services in Nigeria, in connection with its US$500 million private placement;
  • Representing Orascom on its US$1.2 billion tender offer for shares and GDSs carried out on the Cairo and London Stock Exchanges; and
  • Representing EFG International in connection with its CHF1.6 billion IPO on the SWX Swiss Exchange, one of the largest IPOs on the SWX Swiss Exchange in recent years, with the company having an initial market capitalisation of CHF5.6 billion.
