Practice Experience
Andries' practice focuses on corporate and finance transactions.

He assists both purchasers and sellers of participations in Belgian companies in every stage of the acquisition/sale process. Andries also advises on the corporate law aspects of complex restructurings, such as mergers, demergers and partial demergers. Further, he advises Belgian and foreign companies on diverse corporate law topics, such as directors' liability, suitable forms for developing business activities in Belgium, liquidation of companies, corporate housekeeping, etc.

As part of his finance practice, he advises financial institutions on Belgian security interests and insolvency related aspects. He has also been involved in several project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector. From 2007 to 2010, Andries was a part-time teaching assistant at the Institute for Insolvency Law of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, headed by Professor E. Dirix.

During his studies, Andries participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which is considered to be the most prestigious moot court competition in the field of commercial arbitration. On several occasions, Andries has been part of arbitration panels at the Leuven Pre-Moot, an international arbitration moot linked to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and organized by the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. From 2005 to 2007, Andries was an executive director of Wetswinkel Leuven vzw, a not-for-profit association offering free legal aid.
