Practice Experience
Alexandre Ippolito is the Executive Partner at White & Case Paris.
His principal area of practice is tax law; however, he has also developed extensive experience in French corporate law over the years, advising clients in various business sectors such as hospitality, real estate development, and insurance.
He works primarily on acquisitions in an industrial or private equity context (structuring, identification and risk management). In recent years, his clients have also included various investment funds in which he has helped to implement relevant fund structures, defend such structuring in case of investigation from French tax authorities, structure their investments and organize management packages.
He has also worked for major banks reviewing acquisition structures in notable transactions, primarily leveraged buyout transactions, and has helped banks understand acquisition structures and identify risks.
Mr. Ippolito also has a tax stand alone practice and in particular he works with significant industrial groups advising on tax optimization, participating in major group restructurings and advising clients on significant tax litigations. As an example, for a pharmaceutical company, he has handled disputes on revenue recognition, thin capitalization, and research tax credit. Additionally, he has assisted a waste management group on significant litigation on VAT recovery and tax treatment of intangible assets.
Mr. Ippolito has developed a significant reputation working for private clients (families controlling industrial groups or high profile individuals) on estate planning, major restructuring, and disposal operations.
