The SEC has proposed major changes to its oil and gas reporting requirements that will affect oil and gas companies and investors. Companies will have to comply with oil and gas reserves disclosure requirements updated to reflect current industry practices and technology, as well as provide enhanced disclosure regarding their reserves. Investors, in turn, will get a more comprehensive picture of a company's reserves.
