White & Case's Washington Energy Group Leaps to Forefront

Two of America's most prominent energy lawyers, Earle H. O'Donnell and Donna M. Attanasio, have joined White & Case as partners in Washington, DC, along with five other energy attorneys. This move enriches the Firm's highly ranked energy practice and offers clients unsurpassed experience in both transactional and regulatory counseling in virtually every facet of the US energy industry.

This premiere energy group joined White & Case from Dewey Ballantine and immediately added critical mass to the White & Case Energy Group, now 15 attorneys strong. The new team fortifies the Firm's Energy Initiative, a multi-practice area team with an industry focus to satisfy clients in the ever-changing energy sector.

  • Earle H. O'Donnell, Partner: Selected as one of the ten top attorneys in energy law by Legal Times in 2005, and recognized in Best Lawyers in America 2006 and Chambers USA, Mr. O'Donnell has long been a leading energy lawyer in the United States. He has represented clients in some of the largest utility mergers and acquisitions, regulatory proceedings, commercial negotiations, government audits, litigation, and market power and market-based rate matters.   • Donna M. Attanasio, Partner: Noted for her power contract negotiation practice, Ms. Attanasio has advised developers of independent generation, electric utilities, energy marketers, transmission providers and other integrated and disaggregated utility service providers in both regulatory and transactional matters. Often working with bankruptcy and litigation attorneys on energy-related matters, she has extensive experience representing clients in proceedings before the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and various state regulatory agencies.   • Zori G. Ferkin, Of Counsel: Ms. Ferkin's practice focuses on the regulation and restructuring of the electric industry and on power project development and financing. She has counseled clients in electric industry mergers and acquisitions, and has helped clients with contracts and agreements. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Ferkin was an attorney advisor with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission and served as chief counsel to the Pennsylvania Governor's Energy Council.   • Laurel W. Glassman, Counsel: Ms. Glassman has nearly 30 years of experience representing clients before the FERC, and routinely advises clients with respect to FERC's Market-Based Rate Policies, the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 2005 (PUHCA), and interlock and securities issuance issues under the Federal Power Act (FPA) and reporting requirements.
