Practice Experience
Adrian Pawelec has a wide range of legal experience, with a primary focus on securitization, restructuring, bankruptcy and banking & finance. He also has a solid background in IT and corporate issues.
Adrian Pawelec started his professional career in 1998 working in the Warsaw office of a renowned international law firm on the due diligence, public offering and international public offering of Telekomunikacja Polska S.A., the biggest telecom company in Poland. He was also involved in the public offering of PKN Orlen S.A., the largest Polish oil company, after joining the Warsaw office of another leading international law firm in 1999.
His experience includes providing legal services to companies in financial distress and assisting both debtors and creditors in restructuring projects. He has been involved in the major restructuring deals in the Polish market, including Elektrim S.A. (2002) and Netia S.A. (2002-2003), where he was primarily responsible for various security and collateral issues. Adrian Pawelec also continues to develop his experience in insolvency proceedings, recently by advising an international financial institution in connection with two major insolvency proceedings in Poland.
Over the years of his practice, Adrian Pawelec has worked on several financing deals, including financing for Polkomtel S.A. and for the group Aster City Cable Sp. z o.o.. Most recently, he was a team leader for the borrower in the process of obtaining syndicated loan. His experience includes both domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate guarantees.
Adrian Pawelec was one of the key team members in connection with the Eastbridge securitization in 2003, which was the first ever cross-border securitization in Poland. He is currently involved in some other currently on-going securitization and non-performing loans projects.
Adrian Pawelec graduated with honors from the Warsaw University School of Law. He also completed a course in English and European Law organized by the British Centre for English and European Legal Studies at the same university. Mr. Pawelec has also received a scholarship at the University of Utrecht School of Law. He is the holder of a certificate authorizing his access to confidential information.
