Practice Experience
Amiko Sudo focuses on international corporate and financial transactions, including energy, infrastructure and project finance, and equipment and facility leasing transactions. Since joining White & Case in 2003, she has been working in the Tokyo and New York offices of White & Case.

Ms. Sudo has assisted various clients based in Asia, US, Latin America, Middle East and Europe. Representative transactions include: 
  • advising lessors and lenders in Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) transactions; 
  • advising lessees, lessors and lenders in the restructuring of operating and finance leases, including the UAL and Delta bankruptcy cases; 
  • assisting clients in the establishment and liquidation of off-shore special purpose companies; 
  • advising shareholders in joint venture and revenue sharing transactions in relation to real estate investment, equipment financing and joint development programs; 
  • advising parties in connection with the merger of two major leasing companies in Japan; 
  • advising lenders, borrowers, airlines and leasing companies in export credit agency supported financings including guarantees by Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Export-Import Bank of the United States and the European export credit agencies (including ECGD, COFACE and Euler Hermes) in connection with asset and project financings; 
  • advising EPC contractors, sponsors and risk participants on project financings in Latin America, Middle East and Asia; and 
  • advising owners and lenders in ship financing transactions.
