White & Case Wins Six Deal Of Year Awards From Project Finance International

White & Case won six Deal of the Year Awards from Project Finance International for the Firm's global work within the project finance sector. These awards recognize some of the Firm's most innovative and impressive projects that were closed in 2009.
Awards were given for the following deals:
- European Gas Deal of the Year 2009 - Nord Stream: Advising the sponsors on the construction and financing of the €7 billion 1,200 km gas pipeline project which runs from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea and the exclusive economic zones of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
- European Power Deal of the Year 2009 - Belwind: Advising the EIB as lender on the €300 million financing of the construction and operation of the first phase of an offshore wind farm in Belgium.
- Gulf Power Deal of the Year 2009 - Shuweihat 2: Advising ADWEA on the US$2.6 billion IWPP project in Abu Dhabi.
- Middle Eastern Power Deal of the Year 2009 - Rabigh: Advising the lenders to the US$2.5 billion oil fired IPP power project in Saudi Arabia, the first fully Chinese EPC-backed IPP in the Middle East.
- Middle Eastern PPP Deal of the Year 2009 - Zayed: Advising the lenders on the US$1 billion construction and financing of the Zayed University PPP project in Abu Dhabi, the largest infrastructure PPP in the Middle East thus far.
- Americas Deal of the Year 2009 - Odebrecht drill ships: Advising the lenders on the US$1.6 billion financing for the construction of two drill ships in Brazil.
