White & Case Scoops Two Awards at FT Innovative Lawyer Awards 2010
October 22, 2010, Financial Times Innovative Lawyers 2010

White & Case has achieved "standout" ranking for the pre-pack administration of Wind Hellas and a "highly commended" ranking for its work on the Nord Stream pipeline project financing, in the "Legal Innovation in Financial Services" category. The Firm was also ranked 28th in the FT 50 top innovative firms.

The FT said about the deal, "Another combination of restructuring tools was used when White & Case helped Weather Investments, the private investment vehicle of Egyptian telecoms entrepreneur Naguib Sawiris, reacquire Wind Hellas. The company's centre of main interest was moved from Luxembourg to England to take advantage of more flexible insolvency laws, and the deal became the UK's largest "pre-pack" sale to date – involving debt of €3.5bn."

The FT Innovative Lawyers report looks at the most innovative firms across Europe and ranks those with an especially pioneering initiative and nature.
