White & Case won "Energy & Resources Deal of the Year" at Asian Legal Business’s China Law Awards held in Shanghai on 24 April, for our work on the $2.5 billion acquisition of Awilco Offshore, a Norwegian oil and gas drilling company, by China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL), an affiliate of CNOOC Ltd. We represented Bank of China, Standard Chartered Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Calyon, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Standard Bank Plc and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in their $1.5 billion acquisition financing for COSL.
