White & Case was named "Corporate/M&A Team of the Quarter" by Financial News for advising Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, on a joint acquisition, together with Canadian auto-parts manufacturer Magna International, of a 55 percent interest in Adam Opel GmbH from the US automobile producer General Motors Company.

The White & Case team was led by partners Markus Hauptmann and Hermann Schmitt working alongside partners Ashley Ballard, James J. Black, Axel Pajunk, Andreas Stilcken, Josef GroBe Honebrink, Irina Dmitrieva and Eric Michailov and assisted by associates in the Firm's Moscow, Frankfurt, London and New York offices.
