Carolyn Lamm Named 2008 Lawyer of the Year

White & Case partner Carolyn Lamm was named "Lawyer of the Year" by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) at its 137th annual banquet held on December 6, 2008.

A litigator in Washington, DC, Lamm is president-elect of the American Bar Association. She is a prominent practitioner in international arbitration, trade matters and cross-border commercial federal court litigation.

Lamm is the recipient of numerous legal awards. In 2006, The National Law Journal named Lamm as one of its "50 Most Influential Women Lawyers," and the year before that, she was recognized by The National Law Journal as one of the "100 Most Influential Lawyers in America." In 2002, the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia named her "Woman Lawyer of the Year."

The Bar Association of the District of Columbia was founded in 1871 and is the third oldest Bar Association in the nation. The BADC is DC's voluntary bar and seeks to promote civility, justice and collegiality among members of the legal profession in the nation's capital.
