Best Sovereign Bond 2008

White & Case won FinanceAsia's "Best Sovereign Bond" transaction of 2008 for acting as international counsel to the Republic of Indonesia on the $2.2 billion issuance of sovereign bonds—the largest single bond offering ever undertaken in the country at the time.

The global offering involved re-opening three previously issued series of Indonesian bonds, a de-listing of the old bonds due 2014 from the Regulated Market "Bourse de Luxembourg" of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and a new listing of old bonds due 2014 on the Singapore Stock Exchange. The new bonds due 2018, and the new bonds due 2038, were likewise listed in Singapore.

The White & Case team was led by partner Kaya Proudian in Singapore.
