White & Case ranked first in The Deal's bankruptcy league table for the second quarter of 2009. The table ranks firms by number of active debtor, creditor and other cases. The ranking continues White & Case’s success in The Deal’s bankruptcy league tables—for the last three years, the Firm has ranked first in The Deal’s end-of-year bankruptcy league tables. As of June 30, 2009, The Deal credited White & Case with 834 active cases, placing it far ahead of the second-placed firm with 316 cases. Düsseldorf-based partner Biner Bähr was named among the top individual bankruptcy lawyers worldwide, ranking third overall with 310 active assignments. Hamburg partners Sven-Holger Undritz and Bettina Schmudde were also ranked in the leading list, with 164 active cases and 75 active cases respectively.
