Askar has an extensive work experience at the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan as well as at an international consulting company in London.

• International Debt Offering: 2007 US$450 million Notes Offering by ATF Capital B.V. (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to Managers and Trustee); 2007 US$600 million Notes Offering by Intergas Finance B.V. guaranteed by JSC Intergas Central Asia (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the Lead Managers and Trustee); 2007 US$250 million Exchange Notes Offering by Kazkommerts Finance 2 B.V. (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the Issuer);
• International Equity Offering: Alliance Bank in an LSE-listed offering of Kazakhstan equity through GDRs (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the Issuer); 
• Capital Market Due Diligence: 2007 Halyk Bank DPR Securitisation Programme (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the Bank); US$170 million loan facility for construction of Khan Shatyry entertainment complex (advising as to Kazakhstan law to the Lender); 
• M&A: Acquisition by a foreign bank of a resident bank (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the international finance groups acquiring Kazakhstan banks); Acquisition by a foreign bank of certain assets of another foreign bank in Kazakhstan bank (legal advisers as to Kazakhstan law to the purchaser); 
• Advising BTA Bank and Alliance Bank on their restructuring programmes.
