Practice Experience
Brody K. Greenwald is an associate in the Litigation and International Arbitration Groups. He has experience representing and advising sovereigns and companies in international arbitration matters as well as in litigation regarding the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
Mr. Greenwald's recent experience as counsel in arbitration cases before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) includes:
- Currently representing a US electricity company in TECO Guatemala Holdings, LLC v. Guatemala, an arbitration under the Dominican Republic – Central America Free Trade Agreement of a dispute relating to an investment in an electricity distribution company;
- Currently representing the Republic of Uzbekistan in Metal-Tech Ltd. v. The Republic of Uzbekistan, an arbitration under the Israel-Uzbekistan bilateral investment treaty of a dispute relating to a joint venture engaged in mineral processing;
- Represented Romania in S&T Oil Equipment and Machinery v. Romania, an arbitration under the US-Romania bilateral investment treaty of a dispute relating to the privatization of several companies; and
- Represented Romania in EDF (Services) Ltd v. Romania, an arbitration under the UK-Romania bilateral investment treaty of a dispute relating to a concession to provide duty free and other retail services at Romanian airports.
Mr. Greenwald also has experience conducting investigations and advising clients with respect to matters arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and he has represented clients in class-action litigation under the federal securities and antitrust laws.
