Practice Experience
Christel Alberti is a senior associate in White & Case's Tax Practice, based in Paris. Her principal areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, group restructurings, international tax planning, cross-border structured financing and corporate tax advice.

Mrs. Alberti has developed significant experience in acquisition schemes, assistance of corporations in their day-to-day activities and in the course of their tax audits and litigations. She deals with all aspects of corporate taxation, VAT and other local taxes, as well as global individual income tax issues.

Mrs. Alberti is the Secretary of the A3F (Association Française des Femmes Fiscalistes)’s Management Board.

Before joining White & Case in 2005, Mrs. Alberti practiced in the tax department of another leading law firm for over three years.

Representative transactions include:
  • Advising a leading supplier of manufacturing solutions to the life sciences industry, in relation to its financial restructuring. This is a first of its kind restructuring transaction in France, made by converting a high yield bond debt into capital shares so that the bondholders become the majority shareholders of a group;
  • Advising François Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire on its €1.150 billion sale of Oberthur Technologies, specialized in the designing and manufacturing of secure card technologies and fiduciary printing, to Advent International;
  • Acting for BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB and Natixis in the Regulation S high yield offering of €350 million 9.375% senior notes due 2016 by Faurecia;
  • Advising IK Investment Partners on its acquisition of majority stake in Snack International;
  • Advising Legris Industries on its acquisition of Ceric, a world leader in the design and production of equipment and assemblies for the manufacture of clay and other building materials;
  • Advising Icade, a French property developer that is majority owned by a French state-owned entity, on its landmark € 710 million IPO of ordinary shares; and
  • Advising DEGI, a German Real Estate Investment Fund, on the acquisition of an office building in the frame of a swap with another office building owned by Mairie de Paris.
