Lateral associates who are invited to the office for interviews will typically meet with 2-4 attorneys during the first round. The interview process usually extends to a second round of interviews, during which lateral candidates will meet with several partners and associates, giving the candidates an opportunity to meet more people with whom they would be working and to gain some additional perspective about the Firm and the practice area for which they are interviewing. The Firm is usually able to reach a decision regarding whether to make an offer after two rounds of interviews.
Once an offer is extended, we give laterals the option to return to the office to meet with more attorneys, either through formal meetings or informal lunches. Additionally, laterals with outstanding offers should feel free to call or email any of the attorneys with whom they met or any recruiting personnel, all of whom will gladly address any questions that may arise in their decision-making process.
Expenses incurred in connection with second round interviews for laterals traveling from out of town will be reimbursed by the Firm.
