If you have been hired as a New Associate in the New York Office, please follow this link for additional firm information.
Straight out of law school, you’re highly educated but law school doesn’t teach you everything you need to know. That’s why so much of what we’re about as a firm is dedicated to your professional development––whether you’re a new associate or a senior partner. There’s a simple philosophy behind the thinking: A good lawyer is always learning.

There are three main components to our professional development program:
  • Professional Skills Institute––The approach is global, and over 50 PSI programs can be found throughout White & Case.
  • Pilot Programs––Each office is encouraged to develop courses as it sees fit or as the need arises, and quite often those go on to become adopted across the Firm.
  • Practice-Specific Curriculum––Not every skill is applicable to every practice, so, depending on which practice you’re in, you will have courses specific to your practice.

Extensive? Yes. Demanding? Definitely. We do everything in our power to make sure you become the best professional you can be while working at White & Case. We owe it to you, our clients and ourselves.
