Practice Experience
Clare Calver is a partner in the Firm’s Banking & Capital Markets group based in Paris. She has acted on a wide range of transactions for banks and borrowers, including acquisition finance and general syndicated finance.

Clare joined the Firm as a partner in July 2007, prior to which, she was an associate in the London and Paris offices of a leading international law firm. Clare is a fluent French speaker.

Examples of recent representations include:
  • Acting for a Kazakhstan limited liability partnership on its USD 550,000,000 financing from a syndicate of international and Kazakh lenders (closed 6 March 2008);
  • Acting for the global coordinator in connection with the public bid for Xansa plc by Groupe Steria SCA. The offer for Xansa, an outstourcing and technology company based in the UK with operations in India, was made by way of scheme of arrangement and approved in September 2007;
  • Acting for the mandated lead arrangers on the CHF 8.1 billion financing of the acquisition by Swisscom of Fastnet S.p.A;
  • Acting for the mandated lead arrangers on the CHF 4.25 billion financing of the acquisition by Swisscom of Vodafone's 25% stake in Swisscom Mobile;
  • Acting for the mandated lead arranger on the senior and mezzanine financing of the acquisition of Nybron Flooring International Corporation by Vestar Capital Partners from Nordic Capital and HIAG;
  • Acting on the US$1.4 billion financing of the acquisition by Ojer Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. of a 55% stake in Türk Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. (trading as Turk Telekom), the state owned telecom operator, from the privatisation administration of Turkey. The deal was awarded "Emerging Markets Deal of the Year 2005" by Acquisitions Monthly;
  • Acting for the mandated lead arrangers in relation to €9 billion unsecured acquisition facilities made available to a French investment grade corporate for the acquisition of a UK-listed company; and

  • Acting for the mandated lead arrangers in relation to a DKK 2 billion unsecured revolving credit facility made available to a Danish investment grade corporate.
