Christopher Kandel is co-head of the Bank Finance group in the Firm's Banking & Capital Markets group in London, specialising in complex international leveraged finance transactions. He principally represents leading global financial institutions.

Christopher Kandel (qualified England and Wales (1999), District of Columbia (1987), Maryland (1986) and California (1985)) specialises in complex international leveraged finance transactions and restructurings. He principally represents leading global financial institutions.
 
His experience includes senior and mezzanine acquisition and leveraged finance; high yield securities; bridge facilities; receivables securitisations and other structured financings; corporate acquisitions and disposals; venture capital; distressed debt trading; and other banking, project finance, export credit agency, capital market and restructuring matters. In his career, he has advised on many landmarks including the largest LBO financing in Asia, the second-ever high yield issue in Japan, the first international syndicated loan to a corporate in Turkey, the first super-senior revolver in Europe, the first western-sponsor style leveraged buyout financing in Russia and the restructuring of British Energy.

He is distinguished in the London market as one of the few lawyers with partner-level experience and expertise in handling leveraged finance and restructuring matters under both English and US law and has been recognised by inclusion in Euromoney’s “Guide to the World’s Leading Banking Lawyers”, “Who's Who in the World” (Marquis) “Who’s Who in America” (Marquis) and “Who’s Who in Finance and Industry” (Marquis). Christopher has also been named in the past as one of the “Hot 100 Lawyers” by The Lawyer magazine.
