Maxine Williams—On the Job
When White & Case decided that it was time to increase the number and effectiveness of its diversity programs worldwide, we looked for someone as sophisticated and global as the Firm itself. After a long search, the Diversity Committee appointed Maxine Williams, a lawyer with international and human rights experience, as our manager of diversity programs.
Maxine is instrumental in driving many of the innovative initiatives of the Firm’s Diversity Committee. She works with the Recruiting, Professional Development, Pro Bono and Marketing departments to develop strategies and programs that will support and increase the diversity of our lawyer population. She also provides our lawyers and marketing staff with updated figures and approved text for diversity sections of pitches and proposals.
A graduate of Yale University, Maxine received her LLB with first class honors from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She has represented clients in criminal, civil and industrial courts in both her native Trinidad and in London, and has worked with multiple international organizations on development and human rights issues in the Caribbean.
Maxine leads the effort in making diversity a visible daily focus at White & Case.
