Practice Experience
Elisa is an associate in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group of the Paris office.

She was involved in various mining and industrial developments in Africa, as well as the African energy sector, working on such matters as:
  • advising a consortium led by a major multinational diversified mining company on a project involving the construction and operation of an alumina plant and related infrastructures in the Republic of Guinea;
  • advising an American mining company on the acquisition of mining interests in a gold mine in the Republic of Guinea;
  • advising a major multinational diversified mining company on the early stages of its development of an industrial project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo;
  • advising the Government of Gabon on the drafting of its new oil legislation;
  • advising a Algerian oil company on the drafting of its model-agreements for the purchase of oil and gas;
  • advising an American investment fund with regard to its investments in an Ivory Coast insurance group, present in several West African countries;
  • advising an Asian development bank with regard to the financing of a telecommunications company in the Republic of Congo; and
  • advising a Brazilian bank with regard to the establishment of micro-credit business in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

With regard to France-based infrastructure projects, Elisa has principally advised and assisted potential lenders in connection with bids for concessions and PPP awards for high-speed railroad projects.

During her secondment to the White & Case São Paulo office, Elisa was involved in capital markets work and bank-finance transactions, in particular:
  • advising a major Brazilian oil drilling company in a private placement transaction;
  • advising a large Brazilian cement company with regard to the transfer of certain cement plants to a French group;
  • advising various banks on the restructuring of the debt of a large Brazilian commodities company; and
  • advising a multinational aluminium company with the due diligence process for the acquisition of a smelting plant in Brazil.

Before joining White & Case in January 2008, Elisa trained in the arbitration practice of two major French law firms where she had the opportunity to represent an African government in an ICC arbitration in relation to mining investments, as well as a French utilities concessionaire in an ICSID arbitration against a West African country.
