Practice Experience
Eric Lancaster is an associate in White & Case's Intellectual Property Practice Group. His practice focuses primarily on patent litigation, covering a variety of technologies including microprocessors, memory chips, CMOS image sensors, software and disk drives. Mr. Lancaster's patent litigation experience includes pre-filing activity, discovery, claim construction briefing, summary judgment briefing and in drafting briefs for matters before the US International Trade Commission.

During law school, and currently as an alumnus, Mr. Lancaster enjoys his role as an alumnus member of the Galloway Moot Court Board at Santa Clara University School of Law.

Some examples of Eric's work include: 
  • American Imaging Services, Inc. v. Autodesk, Inc. (2010) Represented Autodesk in a patent litigation matter involving CAD software. 
  • Panavision Imaging v. OmniVision, et al. (2010) Represented Panavision Imaging in an action asserting four patents against Defendant's CMOS image sensors. 
  • MOSAID v. Micron, et al. (2009) Represented MOSAID in a multiple patent case involving memory and CMOS imaging chip technology. The case proceeded in both the Eastern District of Texas and the Northern District of California and was settled with all parties taking a license to the patents-in-suit after the Markman hearing but before the Markman decision was issued. 
  • Alberta Telecommunications Research Centre v. Rambus Inc. (2009) Represented Rambus in a patent litigation matter involving clock synchronization technology. 
  • Stormedia v. HGST et al. (2008) Represented Hitachi Global Storage Technologies in the Eastern District of Texas in a multi-defendant patent litigation matter involving disc drives which resulted in an early settlement after initial invalidity contentions.
