White & Case Advises on Real Estate Deal of the Year in Russia for Fifth Consecutive Year

Global law firm White & Case LLP advised on the transaction awarded "2015 Deal of the Year: Purchase-Sale" at the 14th Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards on April 21, 2016. Organized by Commercial Real Estate magazine, the awards are Russia's most prestigious for real estate.

In the award-winning deal, the Firm advised Capital Partners, a market-leading real estate investment and development company focusing on pioneering projects in emerging markets, on the sale of two office buildings (OB I and OB III) in the Metropolis Complex in Moscow with a combined gross leasable area of 80,000 square meters, to a real estate fund managed by Hines, a US-based, privately owned, global real estate leader.

This marks the fifth consecutive year in which the Moscow office has advised on commercial real estate award-winning deals. Past wins include Radius Group's sale of the largest "build to suit" distribution center in Russia to leading French retailer Leroy Merlin in 2014; Capital Partners' US$1.2 billion sale of one of the largest shopping centers in Moscow Metropolis to MSREF in 2013; VTB Capital on the sale of a 47 percent stake in White Square business center to O1 Properties in 2012; and Meridian Capital CIS Fund's US$1.1 billion sale of Galleria Shopping Centre to Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund (MSREF) in 2011–2012.
