Practice Experience
Göran Åseborn has had an international corporate law practice since 1975 involving mergers and acquisitions, cross-border financings and energy law. He advises banks, multinational corporations and governmental authorities on international corporate and commercial transactions, with an emphasis on transactions within the industrial and finance sectors. He has represented numerous multinational clients in acquisitions, major contract negotiations, joint ventures and project finance transactions in Europe and Asia.
Göran joined White & Case's Stockholm office in 1983. Before that, he practiced commercial law relating to Swedish-Anglo trade for another law firm and worked for the Association of Swedish Merchants monitoring legal issues related to trade.
Göran has also lectured at Uppsala University on commercial law topics.
Representative transactions include:
- Acted for Toyota Material Handling Europe in connection with its Pan-European re-organization program involving sale and acquisition of numerous companies within Europe.
- Numerous cross-boarder M&A transactions within the industrial and heavy industry sector.
- Advice on several infrastructure projects including the Swedish-Danish bridge and tunnel connection, HVCD-interconnectors and gas pipeline projects.
- Acted for Toyota Industries Finance International AB (publ) as issuer in connection with a US$1 billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme with Deutsche Bank as arranger.
- Advice in connection with a SEK 11.2 billion lease financing facility provided by SEB Finans AB, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) and SEB Finans GmbH.
- Acted for the lessor in connection with a SEK 2.2 billion lease financing of rolling stock.
- Acted for NCC AB in connection with its disposal of a property portfolio in Germany.
