Practice Experience
Mr. Vuoso, a counsel in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, specializes in complex commercial litigation, including class actions, in the areas of antitrust, securities, contract, lender liability, bankruptcy, white-collar criminal and governmental regulatory investigations/litigations, and constitutional law. He also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, involving a wide range of legal and business issues.
Mr. Vuoso has extensive trial and appellate court litigation experience in federal and state courts throughout the country. He is currently representing a multi-national pharmaceutical company in civil antitrust litigation in approximately thirty state courts, and has also represented the company in a multi-district litigation (MDL) filed in federal court in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Vuoso has also represented a major investment management company in a civil class action in federal court in Denver, Colorado, alleging breach of fiduciary duty and misrepresentations. He also represented the board of a major insurance company in connection with an internal investigation of accounting irregularities, and represented the company in a federal criminal investigation and in civil class actions in federal and state court, helping the company to avoid a criminal indictment and succeeding in getting all the class actions dismissed on the pleadings. Mr. Vuoso has also represented companies as defendants and as a plaintiff in civil class actions alleging securities fraud. He is also the author or co-author of articles that have appeared in the
Yale Law Journal
and in the
National Law Journal
, and of an outline for a Practicing Law Institute presentation on the liability of directors, lawyers, and accountants for securities fraud.
