Practice Experience
Ian Reynolds has recently joined the firm as an associate in the Brussels antitrust practice.
Ian studied history at the University of Leeds, before achieving his legal qualifications at the College of Law, Chester. He worked for a large US law firm in Brussels and the Competition Directorate-General of the European Commission prior to qualification and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in November 2006.
Ian has gained significant experience of European and US antitrust. He has advised multinational and other clients in cases concerning exhaustion of rights, cartel and Article 82 compliance, and on the applicability of Article 81 to distribution agreements. He has been involved on the case teams of a number of merger notifications to the Commission, including Basell/Lyondell, GE/Dogus, and Sony/BMG.
As to publications, Ian has been involved in a number of books on both the European merger regime and Article 82. He has also worked with several authors on numerous academic articles for publication in the EU and elsewhere.
Ian has considerable practical experience with both the High Court of England and Wales and the UK competition authorities. His litigation background includes arbitration work, mediation, single issue determination and negotiation and settlement.
