Justin Benson is a leading asset finance lawyer with particular experience in advising the aviation industry. He has a broad background in international bank finance and has advised major financial institutions on the full range of international lending transactions.

Among the clients Justin has represented are GECAS, Babcock & Brown, Chase, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Deutsche Verkehrsbank and Hamburgische Landesbank.

Before joining White & Case in 2000, Justin worked for a major US-based firm and a leading UK firm.

Justin is named as one of the world's leading aircraft finance lawyers in Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Aviation Lawyers and is named a Leading Individual in Asset Finance and Leasing in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession.

Examples of recent representations in Asset Finance:
  • Acted for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and Deutsche Verkehrsbank in connection with a US$195 million aircraft warehousing loan facility with a forward sale agreement with Iberia;
  • Acted for Royal Bank of Canada in connection with a €200 million refinancing of two A340s on lease to Olympic Airways;
  • Acted for Babcock & Brown in connection with numerous operating lease transactions; and
  • Acted for IFC in connection with financing for Volga Dnepr Airlines.

Examples of recent representations in Project Finance:
  • Acted for EBRD in connection with Phase II financing of Gastransit project; and
  • Acted for EBRD in connection with financing of SEVERTEK project.
