Jacek Czabański is a partner at White & Case and head of the Firm's banking practice in Warsaw. Mr. Czabański is an authority on banking and financial law. Mr. Czabański concentrates in advising clients on and planning structured finance projects, derivatives markets and banking and foreign exchange regulations.

Mr. Czabański has advised leading foreign banks in setting up their operations in Poland and has also participated in negotiations and drafted privatization agreements and agreements to purchase shares of Polish banks by foreign banks. He also advised foreign banks that established their companies and representative offices in Poland in connection with their applications for licenses and permits from the National Bank of Poland and with the drafting of required documentation.

Mr. Czabański advises banks in connection with their operations, including drafting by-laws on banking products and services, loan documentation and loan agreements, such as syndicated loans to finance investment projects.

During the years 1973-1990, Mr. Czabański worked in the Foreign Department of the Ministry of Finance and from 1983-1990 was a legal advisor in Bank Handlowy w Warszawie. In the early 1980s, Mr. Czabański represented the Polish Ministry of Finance in negotiations of Poland's membership in the International Monetary Fund and in the World Bank. He was also part of the Polish delegation which negotiated the creation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). From 1990-1995, Mr. Czabański was Vice-Director of the Paris Branch of Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A. He also co-authored the foreign exchange law of 1989 and the related implementing regulations.

The Chambers Global 2007 guide lists Mr. Czabański among the leading Polish lawyers (Tier 1) specializing in banking and finance for the third year in a row. According to the publication: "Jacek Czabanski is highly respected in the local market." He is "reliable and experienced" and, as one client put it: "He has a certain prestige and some cases simply need this big name behind them!"

According to International Financial Law Review – IFLR 1000 Mr. Czabański is one of the most professional lawyers in the area of banking and finance in Poland for the third year in a row.

The latest edition of the prestigious report Legal 500 EMEA 2007 lists Mr. Jacek Czabański as "recommended" in the Banking and Finance and Project, Energy and Natural Resources categories.

The latest edition of Who's Who Legal – The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers 2007 recommended Mr. Czabański in the area of banking. The latest edition of IFLR 1000 2008 for the third time recommends Mr. Czabański in the banking area.
