Practice Experience
Jennifer heads White & Case's CEE/CIS oil and gas group. She specializes in transactions in the energy and natural resources sector, regularly advising on M&A and joint venture arrangements, joint operating agreements (JOAs), PSA matters, concessions, energy projects, and international arbitration in the subsoil and energy sectors. She is ranked as one of the top energy and natural resource lawyers in Russia by Chambers Global, PLC Which Lawyer, and the Who's Who of International Oil and Gas Lawyers. Jennifer is a board member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and was the first regional director of AIPN's CIS Chapter, from 2005 to 2008.

Her recent experience includes representing:
  • A leading international E&P company on an asset swap with Gazprom in respect to the Yuzhno-Russkoye natural gas field in Western Siberia;
  • TNK-BP on the establishment of a gas-to-power joint venture with OGK-1, the largest wholesale thermal power generation company in Russia, for the construction of a new power unit at Nizhnevartovskaya Thermal Power Plant in Western Siberia;
  • Export credit agencies, multi-lateral lenders and commercial bank lenders in connection with the $20 billion project financing of the Sakhalin II (Phase 2) LNG Project in Russia;
  • Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) on its joint venture with Rosneft for the exploration and development of the West Kamchatka offshore field;
  • Tyumen Oil Company (TNK) and its shareholders on certain aspects of a joint-venture alliance with British Petroleum (BP);
  • Hess Corporation on acquisitions in the Russian oil & gas sector in Russia's Volga-Urals region;
  • M-I SWACO, a Smith International and Schlumberger company specializing in drilling fluids and solids control/waste management equipment and services, in its acquisitions of two Russian drilling fluid and solids control companies and its business activities in Russia; and
  • A large Russian oil company in regards to various joint venture issues including joint operations agreements and exclusive operations and in regards to a drilling contract in Kazakhstan.

Before moving to Moscow and joining White & Case in 2002, Jennifer worked in a large U.S. law firm in Houston, Texas.
