James N. Robinson II is a member of the Firm's Litigation Department and concentrates in commercial trial work. His practice includes litigation in state and federal courts. Many of his recent cases include representation of banking clients, including defense of a US$100 million lender liability lawsuit filed by a creditors' committee in federal bankruptcy court, and defense of a multi-million dollar lender liability lawsuit by a mezzanine lender on a US$60 million bank loan. For banking clients, Mr. Robinson has also prosecuted dozens of commercial foreclosure lawsuits on loans totaling over US$1 billion, obtaining court-appointed receivers, summary judgments, and foreclosure sales in extremely short periods of time. By aggressively pursuing delinquent borrowers and guarantors, Mr. Robinson has also obtained court orders requiring defendants to disgorge significant rental proceeds, security deposits and other funds wrongfully retained following default by borrowers and guarantors.

Mr. Robinson has also successfully represented numerous regional and national law firms in legal malpractice lawsuits. He has handled all aspects of such lawsuits, starting with the earliest motion practice and continuing through jury trial.

Mr. Robinson has also represented foreign and domestic corporations in contract disputes, regulatory and compliance matters, and consumer class actions at various stages, including appeals. Mr. Robinson has also successfully defended numerous director and officer liability actions, and has successfully represented developers and contractors in real estate disputes throughout Florida.
