Practice Experience
Jeremy Ostrander is a litigator in the Firm's Antitrust/Competition and Litigation Groups. He has experience in general commercial litigation, including class action defense, as well as issues of federal government regulation, particularly antitrust.

Representative matters include:
  • Member of a trial team at an evidentiary hearing that successfully obtained the dismissal of a criminal indictment brought against Stolt-Nielsen, an international parcel tanker shipping company, after the Department of Justice wrongfully removed Stolt-Nielsen from the Corporate Leniency Program;
  • Representation of Stolt-Nielsen in civil class actions regarding indirect purchaser antitrust claims and securities law violations;
  • Representation of a foreign sovereign entity in a civil antitrust class action involving the freight-forwarding industry;
  • Representation of a client in responding to DOJ Civil Investigative Demand regarding hiring practices;
  • Representation of the International Finance Corporation against bid rigging allegations before the Indonesian antitrust regulators;
  • Representation of Stolt-Nielsen in an international commercial arbitration to resolve customer's antitrust claims;
  • Representation of an antitrust client in an employment action by client's former general counsel. The litigation involved cutting-edge ethical issues regarding former lawyer's ethical duties of confidentiality and loyalty.

Mr. Ostrander has also participated in competition related internal investigations and compliance work for clients in the United States and Europe.

Prior to joining White & Case, Mr. Ostrander worked as an associate in the class action defense and financial services litigation practices of a California-based law firm, where he focused primarily on class action litigation defense involving Federal laws regulating the lending industry, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Truth in Lending Act, as well as California's Unfair Competition Law.
