Jean Shimotake concentrates in patent litigation and client counseling on patent and other intellectual property issues. She also advises clients on the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property, as well as on product clearance issues. She has also evaluated intellectual property portfolios.

Ms. Shimotake, a registered US patent attorney, has extensive experience in representing clients in complex patent disputes concerning various technologies, including the biotechnological and chemical fields.

In international arbitration matters, Ms. Shimotake has experience before the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association.

Ms. Shimotake was resident in the Firm's Tokyo office from 2000 to 2003. She was also an editor of the Journal of International Association of the Protection of Intellectual Property of Japan (AIPPI Japan).
