Practice Experience
Ms. Beguiristain is a counsel in the Firm's Litigation Department and concentrates on complex commercial litigation and appellate matters, with an emphasis on federal court proceedings. Since joining the Firm, her practice has included representation of foreign and domestic corporations and individuals in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other white-collar matters.
Since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, Maria has worked in Miami, serving as a law clerk to the Honorable K. Michael Moore, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, during the 1997-1998 term.
Maria was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida for five years, concentrating in appellate work before the Eleventh Circuit. She also taught in the LLM program at the University of Miami School of Law.
