Practice Experience
Magda Olyšarová is an associate of the Prague office. She focuses primarily on regulatory matters, EC law, competition law and insurance. Ms. Olysarova is currently a member of the EU & Regulatory Practice Group.

Prior to joining White & Case in September 2006, Ms. Olysarova worked in the Legal Department of Ceskoslovenska Obchodni banka, a. s., where she specialized in EC law, competition law and litigation. Ms. Olysarova also served as an intern with DG Competition of the European Commission, where she was involved in the sector inquiry in financial services, and cartel proceedings against a payment card scheme operator.

Magda Olysarova was involved in the following representative transactions:
  • Representation of Toshiba Corporation in cartel proceedings pursued by the Czech Anti-Monopoly Office concerning the GIS cartel and in the follow-up court proceedings; 
  • Representation of Unipetrol, a.s. in cartel investigations before the European Commission concerning the "rubber" cartel; 
  • Rpresentation of PPF, a.s. in setting up a joint venture with Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. merging the insurance and insurance-related business of both participants in Central and Eastern Europe, including related merger and regulatory proceedings; 
  • Advising Ceska posta s.p. in relation to its transformation and liberalization of postal services sector; 
  • Representation of HSBC Bank plc in insolvency proceedings against the Porcela Group;

In addition, Ms. Olysarova has participated in due diligence reviews focused on regulatory matters (public transport operator, health-care facilities, tires distributor). She has also been advising clients in public procurement matters. Ms. Olysarova experience further includes drafting of competition compliance programs, advising financial institutions in regulatory matters, and participation in insolvency proceedings and other litigation.
