Practice Experience
Marily Paralika specializes in international arbitration. She has experience of arbitral proceedings conducted under the auspices of the ICC, as well as ad hoc proceedings. Industry sectors in which she has advised include construction.

Prior to joining White & Case, Marily was Assistant Counsel to the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC, where she oversaw thousands of arbitrations, spanning almost all industry sectors and regions.

Marily's experience in the Paris office of the Firm, has included representing:
  • The State of Ukraine in an ICSID arbitration brought by a US investor arising out of issues in the construction/hotel services sector. The matter involves the application of the bilateral investment treaty between the United States and the Ukraine;
  • A Middle Eastern company in an ad hoc arbitration arising out of a dispute concerning the construction of a gas plant;
  • A former CIS State owned gas company in an SCC arbitration arising out of a dispute concerning sale, transit and storage of natural gas;
  • A Middle Eastern company in an ICC arbitration arising out of the termination of a construction joint-venture with a European company;
  • A French company in an SCC arbitration arising out of the termination of a design and construction contract with a Russian company.
  • A consortium of major Western European contractors, in an ad hoc arbitration under the ICC rules against a Southern European State, arising out of the construction of a motorway.

Marily is currently the Greek National Commissioner to the ICC.
