Practice Experience
Michael A. Roche is a member of the Firm's International Arbitration and Litigation Practice Groups.

Mr. Roche represents foreign sovereigns and private parties in complex international cases. Fluent in English and Spanish, he has broad experience in matters involving Latin America and the Caribbean, and has assisted on cases concerning more than a dozen jurisdictions throughout the region.

Mr. Roche represents clients in both investment and commercial arbitration matters. He has particular experience in cases before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).

Mr. Roche also practices in US federal and state courts. He has represented victims of financial fraud in federal criminal and civil forfeiture proceedings, and has participated in investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has also appeared in US immigration court on a pro bono basis, having recently successfully represented an asylum applicant from El Salvador.

Prior to joining White & Case, Mr. Roche practiced at a leading international arbitration and litigation boutique law firm in Miami, Florida. Additionally, he has spent periods of time living and studying in Latin America, including in La Paz, Bolivia and Havana, Cuba.
