Canadian Lawyer Associates featured an article on Canadian law students who choose to take jobs abroad with international law firms.  According to Timm Whitney, Director of Attorney Recruiting and Development, "Canada is a long-standing source of talent for the Firm."

Jessica Marchand and Jennifer Poon, both Canadian associates in White & Case’s New York office, are quoted extensively in the article about their positive experience working abroad at the Firm.  "I think it's very unique experience in that you’re exposed to not only the international aspects of legal work, but also dealing with other cultures and finding out how things are done in other countries," said Poon.

Whitney says the years abroad are also a benefit to Canadian students who eventually want to practice in their home country.  "A lot wind up going back to Canada in various areas of practice, and I think the ability to gain New York or London market expertise is very valuable, both to them and to the Canadian law firms in general."
