Multilatinas to See US Buying Opportunity

The current financial crisis may ease the path for Latin American companies looking to make major acquisitions in the US and they'll be able to do so at a fraction of the price they would have paid a year ago. George Paul discusses the trend with Latin Finance magazine.

"LatAm companies that have expanded through the region with sophisticated management and low debt have a good chance to acquire US based companies owing to the financial crisis," says White & Case partner George Paul.

Paul also says that "in the very near term it is unlikely that we will see a flurry of activity, but towards the second quarter we may see a loosening up of capital and that will whet companies' appetite to plan deals."
