Practice Experience
Nikhil Narayanan is a senior associate in the corporate department of the Firm's London office. He has a broad range of experience in equity capital markets, corporate and India related transactions.

Prior to joining the firm in May 2010, Nikhil was an investment banker in the equity capital markets execution team at a leading investment bank in London and was previously an associate at a leading law firm in London.

Since joining White & Case, he has advised on:
  • the acquisition of Black Marlin Energy Holdings Limited by Afren plc and the resulting listing of the consideration shares on the main market of the London Stock Exchange;
  • the acquisition by Afren plc of interests in the Barda Rash block and the Ain Sifni block, two oil fields in Northern Iraq's Kurdistan region for $588 million;
  • the proposed multi-billion dollar rights issue acquisition financing for a FTSE 100 target;
  • acting for the joint bookrunners, JP Morgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the $600 million ABB of the shares of MH Perakendecilik ve Ticaret A.S.; and
  • acting for Eureko B.V. as seller in the €1.5 billion ABB of approximately 13% of PZU; and
  • a proposed large premium listing on the London Stock Exchange.

His experience (prior to joining White & Case) includes advising on:
  • market leading rights issues for corporates including Barratt Development plc's £720 million placing and rights issue and Rio Tinto plc's $15.2 billion rights issue;
  • various re-capitalisation rights issues for European and international banks, including BES SA's €1.2 billion rights issue and Banco Santander SA's €1.5 billion rights issue;
  • a proposed market leading standby rights issue to finance a multi-billion dollar cross-border acquisition by a FTSE 100 bidder;
  • market leading accelerated book-builds and PIPE exits for various sovereign wealth funds in relation to their holdings in FTSE 100 companies and other large listed European corporates;
  • proposed premium listings of oil and gas companies on the London Stock Exchange, including an Indian oil and gas company;
  • India related transactions, including proposed London Stock Exchange premium listings and private placements for leading Indian issuers;
  • cross-border and UK private mergers and acquisitions;
  • banking and mortgage portfolio acquisitions for leading financial institutions; and
  • intra-group corporate restructurings and B-share issues for FTSE 100 and other leading corporates.
