Practice Experience
Ms. Pamela S. Ammermann, joined the tax practice of White & Case LLP in January 2004. Before joining the firm, Ms. Ammermann worked as an associate at Alston & Bird LLP, Washington, DC, where her practice focused on negotiating and drafting Advance Pricing Agreements, and advising on international tax issues. She had previously worked as an Attorney-Adviser at the United States Tax Court, Washington, DC.
Ms. Ammermann concentrates her practice on international tax, including negotiating Advance Pricing Agreements and resolving business tax issues. Ms. Ammermann has assisted in negotiating both Advance Pricing Agreements and Advance Pricing Agreement renewals. She has also assisted in preparing the Annual Reports that accompany the APA as well as preparing documentation for transactions not covered by the APA.
In addition to her APA work, Ms. Ammermann has advised on a variety of international tax issues. These include permanent establishment, investment, and other business-related issues.
Ms. Ammermann holds degrees from Mary Baldwin College (B.A., summa cum laude, 1991, Staunton, VA) and Washington College of Law, The American University (J.D., summa cum laude, 1995, Washington, DC). She also completed a year of study at Kansai University of Foreign Studies, from 1989 to 1990 in Osaka, Japan. Ms. Ammermann is a member of the Virginia Bar (since 1995) and the District of Columbia Bar (since 1999). In 2004, she was admitted as a foreign practicing attorney in Japan. She also speaks and reads Japanese.
