Overview

Alexander Lang is a local partner in White & Case's International Arbitration Practice Group. His practice focuses on international arbitration and commercial litigation and he has substantial experience both in domestic and international arbitrations conducted under the ICC and DIS rules. Alexander specializes in disputes relating to construction, M&A, energy, and supply contracts (especially in the automotive industry) and also regularly advices clients both in contract and out-of-court negotiations in these areas.

Alexander spent six months on secondment in our London office and regularly supports clients in significant international disputes together with colleagues from other offices of White & Case's award-winning International Arbitration Practice.

ICC Arbitrations Concerning One of the Largest Infrastructure Projects in the World 
Representation of the main contractor on one of the world's largest infrastructure projects located in Central America in ICC arbitrations seated in Miami and worth in excess of USD 2 billion.  

Global Player in Renewable Energy
Representation of a mechanical works contractor in a dispute relating to the construction of a hydro-power plant. The dispute concerned, among other things, delay and limitation of liability issues.

Global Industrial Chemical Manufacturer 
Advising owner in negotiations of EPC and lease contracts related to construction of combined heat and power plant on owner's operating site located in Germany.

Oil & Gas Consortium
Representation of an oil & gas consortium in an ICC arbitration seated in Paris against an Arab state arising from the political turmoil of the Arab spring.

German Automotive OEM
Advising a major German OEM in contract and out-of-court negotiations with several suppliers as well as representation in court proceedings with respect to various issues, including warranty claims and claims arising out of delayed or suspended deliveries.

Global Industrial Chemical Manufacturer
Representation in a post-M&A/construction dispute. The arbitration under the DIS Rules concerned several technical defects of the chemical plant acquired by our client.

Major Power Company
Advising a major power company in a post M&A ICC arbitration where the buyer claimed the breach of information and tax guarantees and pre-contractual statutory obligations.

Listed Media Group
Representation of a listed-German media group in a post-M&A dispute with the seller of the target company in expert determination and court proceedings concerning the calculation of the initial purchase price and the earn-out.
