Overview

Ali's experience is in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border joint ventures, equity capital markets transactions, business transfers and general corporate and commercial advisory work. Ali has worked on a wide variety of international corporate transactions and is fluent in Arabic and English.

Prior to joining White & Case, Ali worked in the corporate department of a leading international law firm.

Experience

Represented Qatari Diar and Barwa Real Estate in Barwa's US$5.3 billion sale of assets comprising major real estate projects in Qatar including Barwa City and Barwa Commercial Avenue and a significant stake in Barwa Bank, in one of the largest ever M&A transactions in Qatar (Domestic M&A Deal of the Year 2014 – IFLR).

Represented United Al Saqer Group LLC on their subscription for US$70m of redeemable exchangeable preference shares in Hygienic Holding Group Ltd.

Represented QIA on an international joint venture in the financial services sector.

Represented Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) in connection with the issuance of Federal Decree by Law No. 3 and the subsequent changes to its constitutional documents and ownership structure.

Represented a UAE-based technology services and consulting company on its pre-IPO re-organisation, private placement and proposed listing.

Represented the joint lead managers in connection with the IPO of Amanat in the UAE.

Represented Investment Corporation of Dubai, the principal investment arm of the government of Dubai, in respect of its acquisition of a number of key hotel and other assets.
