Anthony Morro is Global Director of White & Case's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. He is responsible for performing distressed debt credit analysis on corporate and sovereign debt, business and strategic development, marketing, operations, communications, and managing the financials of the Practice, which has more than 160 lawyers globally.
Anthony obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Juris Doctorate degree from George Washington University Law School and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and accounting from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Before joining White & Case, Anthony worked on Wall Street for 12 years as a derivatives trader at Prebon Yamane, an investment banker at Bear Stearns and a high yield/distressed bond sales-trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, Guggenheim Capital and Miller Tabak Roberts. On the buy-side, Anthony worked at Bay Harbour Management, a hedge fund in New York with US$1 billion-plus AUM, focusing on distressed debt and event-driven situations, as well as private equity transactions. At Bay Harbour, he was a Managing Director, where he served as General Counsel and Head of Trading.
Previously, Anthony practiced law as a violent felonies prosecutor with the State Attorney's Office in Broward County, Florida and the District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York. In private legal practice, he worked in New York as a commercial litigator defending first-party property insurance carriers in litigation stemming from contractual disputes.
