Overview

John Templeman is White & Case's Global Arbitration Practice Manager. He is responsible for leading the Practice's business development, marketing, strategy, knowledge and communications globally. John also assists with the management of White & Case's other global practices and with central business development and strategic initiatives. He is primarily based in New York, but works closely with practitioners and professional staff across the Firm.

Qualified in three jurisdictions (New York, England & Wales and Australia), John has 13 years' experience in both the practice and business of law at three global law firms. Before joining White & Case in 2010, he was a Senior Associate at a magic circle law firm in London where he practiced for five years, and prior to that he was an Associate at a leading international law firm in Australia. John has obtained two diplomas in international arbitration, Fellowship status of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and is currently on the panel of arbitrators of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and on the Business Development Committee of the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC).

John's practice experience encompasses commercial, energy and investor-state matters, representing corporations and state entities across the Americas, Europe and Africa (particularly Liberia, Namibia and Mauritania). He has handled international arbitrations under all major arbitral institutions and rules, including the ICC, ICDR, ICSID, LCIA, SCC and UNCITRAL, as well as complex cross-border litigation before the US, UK and Australian courts.
