Overview

Olivia Yiu is counsel in White & Case's Asia Debt Finance and Restructuring group, based in Hong Kong. She has experience with a variety of finance transactions, including acquisition financings, syndicated and bilateral loans, leveraged financings, China outbound financings and margin lending transactions. She also has experience with debt capital markets, corporate and litigation matters.

Experience

Advised China Huarong International Holdings Limited on a US$60 million secured term loan to finance the acquisition of land and buildings in California, USA by a Chinese pharmaceutical company.

Advised the mandated lead arrangers on a HK$1.2 billion bridge loan facility to a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Group (CCCG) to finance the acquisition of 4.627% of the shares in Greentown China Holdings Limited (HK:03900). The mandated lead arrangers were Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

Advised 11 banks on a US$665 million syndicated loan and HK$555 million dual-tranche facility to HKSE-listed Shimao Property Holdings Limited, a leading PRC property developer. *

Advised Societe Generale on the Hong Kong aspects of the sale of its Asia private banking business to DBS Bank. *

Advised PRC borrowers on various SBLC-backed financings, including a loan to the parent of a HKSE-listed company engaged in oil and gas expropriation for its acquisition of a company in Canada. *

Prior to joining White & Case, Olivia worked at a "Magic Circle" law firm, based in Hong Kong.
