Overview

Vít is head of the White & Case's Energy and Infrastructure practice groups in Prague. As of January 2022, he is also the Executive Partner of the Firm's Prague office.

He is recognized as one of the leading energy lawyers in the Czech Republic with an extensive experience from key projects in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Vít Stehlík practices principally in the areas of energy law, construction, M&A, PPP projects and disputes.

His reputation in these fields has attracted major domestic and multinational clients, often operating within the energy sector. Vít regularly advises on a broad range of general, energy and project-related legal issues in multiple CEE jurisdictions. 

His significant practice experience has given him a thorough grasp of the full spectrum of legal challenges faced by energy clients, from the successful execution of major M&A deals, to an array of complex regulatory matters, as well as the development, financing and documentation of large-scale international construction projects. Vít's skill in navigating the legal intricacies of large-scale, cross-border transactions has been demonstrated by his involvement in a number of ground breaking deals, both within the Czech Republic and across Europe.

Experience

The Czech Ministry of Transport
The Czech Ministry of Transport before and during a tender for the selection of a concessionaire for the PPP D4 project, which is a first ever infrastructure/road PPP project in the Czech Republic to successfully reach financial close.

NET4GAS
Representing NET4GAS, acting as the gas TSO in the Czech Republic, in connection with (i) the construction of several gas pipelines designed to increase the gas transmission capacity available in the Czech Republic, and (ii) the obtainment of third party access and ownership unbundling exemptions under the applicable EU legislation.

MVM Group
Representation of Hungary's state-owned energy group MVM on the acquisition of the entire share capital in innogy Česká republika, a.s. (innogy) from innogy Beteiligungsholding GmbH, a member of the innogy/E.ON Group.

ŠKODA JS a.s.
Representing ŠKODA JS a.s., a Czech engineering company and a supplier of technology for the nuclear energy industry, in connection with contractual matters arising under the EPC contract between ŠKODA JS a.s. and Slovenské elektrárne, a.s., the employer, in respect of the completion of Units 3 and 4 of the nuclear power plant in Mochovce, Slovakia.
