Practice Experience
Pradeep Ratnam is an associate in the Firm's Banking and Capital Markets group in the London office with experience in project finance, infrastructure, PFI/PPP, and acquisition and loan finance. Pradeep joined White and Case LLP in 2007 from the Project Finance team of a Magic Circle firm, where he represented banks, monolines, construction companies and project sponsors on a range of domestic and international financings. Pradeep is qualified to practice law in England and Wales, and in India.

Representative transactions (prior to joining White & Case) include:

• Acting for RBC on 3i’s €360 million leveraged acquisition of oiltanking businesses in three jurisdictions in Europe and overseas, including negotiating a €250 million secured credit facility on a “certain funds basis” and security packages in the Netherlands, Malta, Luxembourg and Singapore;
• Acting for the common mandated lead arrangers (Riyad Bank, Bayerische Landesbanke, Gulf Investment Bank and Samba Bank) on the US$1.8 billion Independent Water and Power project in Saudi Arabia, including drafting and negotiating the commercial facility agreements, intercreditor agreement, hedging arrangements and security documents under English law;
• Advising the lead manager, Greenwich Financial Services LLC on a US$100 million Russian commercial mortgage backed securitization project;
• Advising the project sponsors on the financing aspects of a US$1.5 billion proposed refinery project in Sri Lanka, including reviewing and commenting on the project agreement, and EPC and O&M contracts; and
• Acting for the monoline insurer/senior funders on the £440 million Peterborough Hospitals project, which included drafting and negotiating the finance documents including the collateral deed, the intercreditor agreement, security documentation and the bond financial guarantee.
